“Future medicine will be the medicine of frequencies.”

— Albert Einstein

Concept & Method

“What if we could not only see the patterns of the natal chart, but hear them? What if one’s personal astrology wasn’t just a map, but a score… a composition of frequencies shaping both the collective and our personal realities?”

For me this was the “aha” moment and now the philosophy behind this work: that astrology is not only a language of symbols, but a language of vibration. Each planetary body carries a frequency, each angle and interaction creates a harmonic interval, and each moment in time holds a unique sonic imprint. By translating astrological patterns, whether from a natal chart or the current sky in motion, into carefully tuned sound, we literally create an audible mirror of the cosmos.

Sound is one of the oldest healing tools known to humanity. It moves through us on a cellular level, bypassing the intellect and speaking directly to the body, the heart, and the subconscious. It restores coherence to the nervous system, helps us process and release stored emotion, and reconnects us with the natural rhythms we so often forget in modern life. Imagine then the potential when the frequencies you’re receiving are specifically tuned to the vibrational patterns of your own astrological chart. In this way, we aren’t just using sound for generalized relaxation or healing. We’re using it to remember our personal frequency, to tune into the unique vibrational blueprint we were born with, and to attune to the current cosmic climate in a way that restores harmony, balance, and alignment.

By consciously experiencing the music of your chart and its relationship to the sky in motion, you open a deeper, more intimate connection with yourself. It’s an opportunity to vibrate in resonance with your truth, your desires, and the path you were designed to walk. A way to experience your chart as living, breathing frequencies.

“There will come a time when a diseased condition will not be described as it is today by physicians and psychologists, but it will be spoken of in musical terms, as one would speak of a piano that was out of tune.”

— Rudolph Steiner

Determining Planetary Frequencies

Let’s address the elephant in the room which is: How do you determine which musical notes are associated with the proper planets and signs?

The truth is, this has been debated for centuries. From the teachings of Pythagoras and Plato to the Hermetic mystery schools to current speculative modern systems, there’s no universally agreed-upon or scientifically proven set of tones for each planet. While astronomers can measure planetary orbital frequencies in terms of physical vibration, those figures fall outside the audible range for human hearing, and different traditions have long interpreted planetary harmonics in their own symbolic ways.

For me this was a conundrum as it is literally the keystone to this work and it is essential that it be rooted in authenticity. And what I discovered was this: if I was going to create music that truly carried meaning, it needed to be firmly established in a tradition I personally trusted and understood.

In the end, that’s why I chose to work with the tones and correspondences passed down through Hermetic mysticism and the Western mystery schools. This has been the lineage and school of thought that has informed much of my esoteric background, and ultimately, it was the system that most deeply resonated with me, both intuitively and practically.

It’s important to understand that the real magic here isn’t solely in the individual notes themselves, but in the relationships between them. Meaning… The intervals these notes create when combined — the harmonic tensions, resolutions, and patterns — mirror the dynamics between the planets in a birth chart or current sky. I feel that it’s in those relationships where resonance, healing, and the true meaning of this work may live.

This system gives me a clean, consistent, and lineage-rooted framework through which to translate astrological charts and planetary movements into sound. It’s not meant to be the one and only truth, but it is a coherent structure that allows for meaningful musical storytelling and one that bridges ancient wisdom, modern experience, and personal intuition.

In the end, what matters most is how it feels when you hear it. This work invites you to listen with your body, your heart, and your inner knowing. This is a unique, personal and powerful experience.

Profile

My name is Kurt Baumann and I’m a composer, astrologer, and film maker with a lifelong fascination for the mystical. For decades, I worked as a touring musician and recording artist, performing on stages across the U.S. and abroad, with numerous songs licensed for national and international television. Through those years and in the space between stage and audience, I came to understand sound not just as entertainment, but as a medium for emotion and deeper connection.

Likely it was that same instinct which led me into the study of astrology, tarot, and esoteric philosophy. For nearly thirty years, I’ve approached these systems as languages of pattern, rhythm, and cosmic design. A fascination which continues to this day to draw me into deeper levels of self awareness and universal understanding. In 2017, I formalized my astrological studies with a diploma in coursework from the American Federation of Astrologers, grounding my intuitive practice in classical tradition.

Today, my work as Music in the Stars bridges these disciplines through sonic compositions that translate astrological patterns and planetary transits into visceral, vibrational soundscapes. Think of it like this… Instead of interpreting your chart with words I interpret it with music, offering a way to tap into the underlying emotional frequencies that move within and through it.

Essentially, my work is about exploring where sound, symbol, and story intersect and how these ancient mediums can help us realign with what’s essential, true, and alive within us here and now.
